I seriously laughed at the part about the Loliholix… because I think I know exactly who the vocalist is. But I am horrified that they butchered “Ride on shooting star”. You don’t do that!

lol, if you mean the quote from Chrislea about Saturday table drama, she provided it herself post-con! I left out PLENTY of other conversations about said drama and other FCFS table shenanigans. XD

Oh, hey! I’m glad you like how the badges turned out! As far as AO, I think it’s a pretty decent “starter” convention for those who aren’t sure about them, but it can definitely be disappointing for those that have been to larger ones and/or were definitely not expecting it to be so small. I’m not sure there’s really a way for AO to convey that they’re only meant to be a small con without shooting themselves in the foot. In general, I did get the impression that attendees were having a good time, so there’s that. They could definitely stand to charge less for admission for such a small con, but then, you’re probably right about them wanting to raise extra money for IKKiCON, rather than feeding it all back to AO.

I have a bunch of artist friends going to San Japan, but I didn’t manage to snag a table in time. SJ has a pretty good reputation from the AA perspective, so it’s definitely a con I want to check out next year, if possible. :) I’ll also be keeping an eye on Oni-Con and AFest for next year — they’re just disorganized enough for me to be iffy about them this year, especially since Oni is moving to Galveston. We’ll see!

Thanks though, and I look forward to seeing you at Ikki as well! :D

Hi there! I’m actually the one that commissioned the Stocking and Kneesock badges, which really turned out great by the way! I’m glad you had some decent business at AO, it’s kind of funny I was actually a volunteer in the video room so I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the anime we picked to play. (I’m also friends with the Steampunk RPG group too actually, it’s called Tephra if you were wondering.)
I feel bad that some people got their hopes up for AO but it really is a small convention. A lot of my friends and I have wondered why they don’t try to do more for AO but we’ve all kind of figured that maybe it’s a way to make some more money to put towards Ikkicon.
If your looking for another convention to go to there’s also San Japan in San Antonio. It’s a bit late to go this year as it’s in a week, but maybe that’s another option for next year? I’ve heard a lot of good things about it. Granted not from an artist in the Artist’s Alley’s perspective…

Anywho, before this get’s any longer I just want to wish you good luck and will be happy to see you at Ikkicon and will be happy to buy more art from you!

You are far better than you think! Your work and booth always has a degree of professionalism and completion that I admire. Its been one of the reasons I originally stopped by and said hello and purchase things when I have the ability to. ^_^

I do admit though, that this years A-kon seemed to have a higher caliber level of artists and artwork than I recall seeing before. I think due to the fact that art market competition and seriousness in people trying to make Artist Alleys at Anime shows a more respectable thing. I think in general many industry people think pretty poorly of AA’s at Anime cons. I dont know why, to me the average artwork surpasses most things you see around. I was glad to share this years A-kon AA with you and other quality artists!

I do wish the trip Thursday had gone much smoother… some times events just dont cooperate well together… I did enjoy your elite singing though! And I think my most memorable quote from the whole weekend could possibly be “Oh my gawd! Are we really going 85 miles per hour??!” lol….

We are gonna try to do check in later next year – usually its just 3-6pm on Thursday anyway, its never been open that late for check in to my knowledge. Sorry if it upset you but, like, its way more complicated on this end I promise.

And yes just one person this year had the information and packets due to notimportantthingsomg.
