In one sentence, Yidi likes to draw, write, and make pretty, thoughtful things. She shares stories with words and pictures. She designs things to facilitate needs. She creates to learn and learns to create.

Yidi is not particularly fond of the name Yidi, but a lifetime of mispronunciations is unlikely to endear a name to anyone. Unfortunately, it’s become apparent that neither the chosen alias nor the shortened form of the chosen alias are all that easy for people to figure out either. To make up for it, she will answer to all of above and a score of other things, including various popular mispronunciations. Except Yoda. She refuses to answer to Yoda.

Yidi habitually tells people that she is from the Internet. This usually invites laughter, but she likes to think that she’s being serious. After all, it’s where she spends most of her time. Her physical location currently changes at least three times a year, prompting an annoyingly long list of mailing addresses, and a distinct lack of identification with any one place. If she could choose, she would be a New Yorker, but the closest she’s gotten is a three hour round trip commute from Jersey. But yes, the Internet! That’s where she’s from and that’s where she does business.

In her spare time, Yidi compulsively folds paper cranes and watches cartoons and writes and draws and draws and writes.
